Can I buy a book as a gift for someone else?

Yes, and it is straightforward: buy the book as normal, then pass the file on to the person you are giving it to.

Two ways to do it

  • Buy and forward — check out with your own email, download the file, then send it to them yourself. This is the tidier option, because you keep the receipt and can time when they get it.
  • Buy to their address — enter their email at checkout so the download goes straight to them. Note that the order confirmation goes to that address too, so it will not be a surprise.

Passing a book to one person as a gift is fine. Posting the file publicly, or sending it to a large group, is not — see What licence do I get?
